About Sage

Sage works from a studio beside the sea in Golden Bay at the top of the South Island of New Zealand.
Born in Yorkshire , raised in Scotland, Malta and England, she and Canadian husband Richard made New Zealand home in
1986 and Sage has been painting while raising their 4 children, building houses , growing vegetables and planting trees.
Self taught , she has developed her own techniques for painting in watercolour on silk utilising a strong
pallette and her own distinctive style; these works are in private collections world wide and a range of prints is also available through

Many of her paintings have been reproduced in a range of greetings cards throughout New Zealand - produced by Oxted Resources.
Describing herself as a regional painter and colorist, her current works in oil, have a strong, distinctive style
and reflect the region, her sense of humour and love of life.
